Flower Pricing

What does Market Price (MP) mean?

The MP of flower is determined by evaluating key factors that contribute to the overall efficacy and consumer experience.

What factors determine the MP of a particular batch of flower?

This is where you’ll find the difference between a $40, $45 or $50 product. In general, we determine a price based on the following factors:

  • Cannabinoid profile
  • Cannabinoid potency
  • Terpene profile & potency
  • Trichomes
  • Bud size & density
  • Strain Lineage

You can find the THC% listed on the product page for each strain. On most strains, the lineage is included in the description found on the product page.

How can the same strain have multiple prices?

We look at strains holistically and evaluate them based on the above factors to determine a consistent market price for the strain overall. Once that is determined, we examine other factors to establish the “tier” pricing within a strain. These factors may vary from plant to plant, so even flower sourced from the same strain in the same harvest may have slight differences in pricing.

While some factors, such as strain lineage, will remain the same, other factors like potency, bud density, trichome count and terpene profile will vary from plant to plant. For example, one plant might produce small buds, but they’re dense and with a great terpene profile. Another plant might have large fluffy buds, but with fewer trichomes and a less impressive terpene profile.

What is a trichome?

Trichomes are the hair-like covering found on the outside of most plant species. Some plants use trichomes to attract pollinators, while others rely on them to deter threats. On the cannabis plant, these trichomes are full of terpenes and cannabinoids.

What is a terpene?

These are naturally occurring compounds give flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables their unique flavors and aromas. They also have therapeutic properties that may interact with the body’s cell and messenger system to produce different physiological effects. On the cannabis plant, terpenes help give each strain its individual characteristics.
